好奇心, 激情, self-directed learning—they’re what define the Senior Exhibition program 和 make it such a seminal educational experience.
Every senior at 目的 tackles this exciting intellectual challenge, choosing a focus area, honing in on an essential question, 和 conducting research over several months to prepare for a major 演讲 of their work in front of students, 教师, family 和 friends.

It starts with a question. How can we both enjoy 和 conserve a particular ecosystem? What is the lasting legacy of my favorite artist? 从那里, students dig into a phase of extensive research, collecting the data 和 information they need to formulate, 后退一步, 他们的论点. More than just collecting facts, students apply thoughtful 和 well-reasoned analysis to their work. One-on-one sessions with an advisor throughout the process give students the opportunity to get advice 和 discuss ideas as they go along. The final three weeks of 英语 IV are dedicated to Senior Exhibition research, at the end of which students produce an annotated bibliography 和 a brief summary of their research. -

4月, seniors are busy polishing up their projects 和 working with their exhibition coaches to get their 演讲 just right. During one busy weekend, the 目的 community attends 演讲s on an exciting range of topics—the culmination (和 celebration!) of months of hard work 和 intellectual exploration. -
Recognition for Our Program
In 2012, 目的 received an 爱德华·E. Ford Foundation 领导 Grant that was intended to support a 目的-led forum designed to help other schools develop 和 improve their senior capstone projects. That initiative has evolved into the Capstone Consortium, a 国家 collaboration between public, 独立的, 狭隘的, 和 charter schools that share a belief in the power of capstone projects. The organization hosts an annual Summer Summit, which allows leaders of capstone mg冰球突破豪华版试玩网站 to gather, 合作, 分享想法. The inaugural Summer Summit was hosted at 目的 in 2013; the School remains an enthusiastic 和 committed participant in the Consortium.
